The family moved away…

So, I’m finding myself with lots of time I don’t know what to do with, other than continue my courses in ethical hacking.  Just got another one in forensics, which should be quite useful.

Useful?  Who am I kidding?  I am veritably unemployable now being so old, but I can still be of help to folks who might ask.  You never know when a friend will get an idea about building websites, and marketing, or something like that.  You never know when what knowledge you’ve acquired can be useful to someone.

They took my darling granddaughter.  My granddaughter who was here everyday, while I attended to her homeschooling work.  How I miss her!  She wasn’t always good.  She wasn’t always well behaved.  She was stubborn, and had a problem with anxiety and ADHD.  But, if something was wrong with me, there isn’t a person on earth who could tend to me more sweetly, and more thoroughly!  She could be an absolute angel!  I believe she has a strong need to be needed.  Hmmmm.  Might run in the family!  Seems familiar!

What do I do with myself now?  Play with the dog?  Well, that IS fun!

Learning quite a bit about website security

I had no idea it was so easy to hack a website.  And it seems to make no difference to hackers that there’s nothing worth the effort!  I’ve checked my stats and it’s amazing how many times exploiters will try to gain access, for seemingly no reason.  There’s nothing worth hacking this site for, yet there are always attempts.

I’m thinking now that these attempts, many of them anyway, are folks just trying things out to see if they can do it.  I’ve been taking classes in ethical hacking and penetration testing, and while I’m certainly far from an expert, I can see the challenge, and understand the desire to just try!

My husband has forbidden me from hacking his system.  LOL!  I can log into his system any time I like!  But IT’S NOT THE SAME!  Being able to do it like a hacker is a challenge I am  thinking about all the time!  Nothing on there is private from me anyway, but it’s the principle of the thing!  Can I do it? I’m going to try, but not for a few weeks.  I need to know more.

It’s like a dare to a young kid!  Dare I?

Been Exploring Ethical Hacking Courses

I’ve completed several classes, although my very own technology is too poor to actually do anything hacking wise, it’s been a very new different eye-opener.  I’ve learned many things, and also, ways to protect myself and my home systems from hacking.

While I know I will always be vulnerable, I’m not as easily fooled as I once was, and if I ever get a newer more powerful system, I will be able to begin to track down hackers.  I’d love to be able to do that.

Of course, I might not even live long enough to do the stuff I’d like to do, since I’m already so old, but learning keeps my younger than I feel.

I’d recommend Zaid Sabih of ZSecurity.org on Udemy.com as an absolutely fabulous teacher!  He is repetitious, and patient!  Complete, and detailed!

Also, I like Nathan House, as he keeps in touch, and lets students know about current issues.

It’s been fabulous, guys!

Now, onto the last one, website hacking.
